Jerry Mathers was born Gerald Patrick Mathers on June 2, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa, United States. Her father was the principal. He spent his childhood growing up in San Fernando Valley, LA, California. He grew up with 3 siblings; two brothers and one sister.

Jerry began his career at the age of two by appearing as a child model for department store advertising. After the first commercial, he appeared in a commercial for PET Milk, in which he appeared with comedian Ed Wynn. Jerry then appeared in several films such as “This Is My Love”, “Men of the Fighting Lady”, “The Seven Little Foys”, and “The Trouble with Harry”.
